RISE Interactive Journal

RISE is an interactive journal that supports people with anxiety in the discovery and development of their identity by assisting in the recognition of their emotions, thoughts, and how these form their personal identity. “Being aware of your identity helps you to not only connect to your friends, family and peers, but also to the environment around you.”

“Being aware of your identity helps you to not only connect to your friends, family and peers, but also to the environment around you.”

Aimed at Australian youth aged eighteen to twenty-four, RISE contains three sections. The first section, ‘Dawn’, is the first segment to begin exploring the concept of Identity. ‘Dawn’ involves activities that discuss and bring awareness to the user’s personal values, motivations, inspiration, and goals. The second segment, ‘Sunrise’, continues with this concept of Identity, focusing on the development and growth of the user by exploring and discussing their thoughts and emotions as well as the motive behind these. The final section, ‘Daylight’ is directed more towards creating and maintaining an awareness of the insights the user has gathered of themselves by completing the previous sections. ‘Daylight’ also concentrates on the continued cultivation and understanding of the user’s identity. There are exercises in all three sections that touch on and dig through the emotions and thoughts of the user, providing a series of possible coping mechanisms that may assist in relieving anxious feelings they may have.
