Interactive & Visual
This project is a high prototype of a tabletop board game. It explores cooperative game play mechanics and how it can encourage players to support one another. This game method has been incorporated within a set narrative game experience based on childhood imaginative play.
I thought it was really fun. I thought it was, like, really engaging.

The aesthetic for this tabletop game is based on my own design preferences. However, this is derived from the many animated shows that I enjoy watching. By choosing this type of aesthetic, the visual style of the game has also helped to reinforce the idea of imaginative play.
The narrative I chose for this tabletop game is based on my own experiences of childhood play. I wanted to place the players into a fantasy world that is a common play scape for children. The beginning and the end of this narrative are the same, but exploring and adventuring, and facing trolls on the way is unique each time the player’s experience the narrative.
To reinforce the narrative, a map tile system was used to create a unique map each time the game is played. This was inspired from other tabletop games.
Lara is a fun and vibrant designer that focuses on creating highly saturated, colourful and cartoonish illustrations. Although she is capable of creating designs to a professional standard, this is her preferred style of design, and can be seen clearly in her final graduate honours piece.
